Former South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw answered questions from fans this week during an AMA with Bleacher Report. During the process, one fan asked the incoming rookie which team he most hopes will call his name this week.

"If I had to say...I'd say the 49ers," Kinlaw responded.

Another fan quickly asked him how he would feel playing alongside Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, and Dee Ford along that San Francisco 49ers defensive line. Kinlaw answered by praising the group.

"They just a wonderful group of guys," said Kinlaw, "a talented group that works together. They work together for the same goal, not individual achievements, and that's to get the win at the end of the day. That's what I want to be a part of, someone who looks at it as a whole."

San Francisco owns the No. 13 overall pick and isn't currently slated to make another selection until No. 31. While there are mock drafts that have Kinlaw headed to the 49ers, most have the team selecting a wide receiver with its top pick.

Of course, team decision-makers could go in another direction should the top three receiver prospects all be off the board at No. 13. That could mean bolstering the interior of a defensive line that lost Pro Bowl defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, who was traded to the Indianapolis Colts.

What will Kinlaw bring to any potential suitor?

"Just a relentless type of guy," he responded. "Consistency. Leadership. A different type of focus."

H/t to Alex Didion of NBC Sports Bay Area for the find.

By David Bonilla
Apr 25

NFL insider Ian Rapoport joined NFL Network ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, which kicks off in a couple of hours, and provided an update on San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk amid several trade rumors. "I think it's fair to say the status of Brandon Aiyuk is very firmly up in the air for the San Francisco 49ers," Rapoport stated. "No doubt they're going to have interest from teams potentially trading for Brandon Aiyuk. And we may actually find out tonight because the 49ers have been very clear internally and externally. They would like a first-round pick for such a talented receiver. And the reality is this has been the market." RELATED: Several teams
